Fun City Chorus Scholarship Recipients 2013

Dale Grimm

Dale Grimm, a 2013 graduate of Fountain Lake High School, knew at an early age that music would play a big part of his life. Dale plays a variety of instruments and has received numerous division one medals in solo and ensemble work. He was awarded the Governor’s Award and the John Phillip Sousa Award for music excellence during his senior year. Working to achieve his goal of being a high school band/music director, Dale plans to attend Henderson State University.

Darlene Morton

Darlene Morton, a 2013 graduate of Lakeside High School, will be attending Arkansas Tech in the fall majoring in vocal music education. Morton has been a part of the Arkansas All Region mixed chorus for four years, achieving 1st chair soprano in 2013. Darlene participated in high school auditioned choirs for 5 years.

Van O’Rorke

Van O’Rorke, a 2013 graduate from Lakeside High School, plans to attend Ouachita Baptist University in the fall as a Music Education Major. He will be singing in the University Choir and playing percussion in the Marching Band and Wind Ensemble. His participation in Chamber Singers, the Lakeside Band Program, Arkansas Symphony Youth Orchestra, and the State Methodist Youth Choir has been inspirational in Van’s desire to further his career in the music field.

Zachary Seresinhe

Zachary Seresinhe, also a 2013 graduate from Lakeside High School, has worked most of his life trying to be a great musician. He enjoys music because he feels it has a power over people’s emotions. He is involved in his church music and is one of its leaders. In his senior year, he was awarded the best actor in a musical production and received the Louis Armstrong jazz band award. Zachary is enrolled at Arkansas Tech University this fall to major in music education.
